The Shift Rapid Transit Environmental Assessment created the Rapid Transit Master Plan (RTMP) following the legislative requirements of the Environmental Assessment Act.
The process is based on a phased approach with the level of detail and analysis increasing for each phase. Phase 1 and Phase 2 of the process included the identification of the problem or opportunity and assessment of alternative solutions, including the identification and evaluation of alternative corridors.
The RTMP addresses Phases 1 and 2 of the Municipal Class Environmental Assessment Process and with Council Approval of the Master Plan, the EA process will continue following the Transit Project Assessment Process (TPAP).
As the study moves forward with the next phase of the study, the City and study team are committed to ongoing consultation with stakeholders. A detailed engagement plan is being be developed for the TPAP. Click here to learn more about what to expect during the TPAP phase of the Environmental Assessment.
